Mercians in Halton last year for their homecoming march
THE Mercians are returning to Halton for a Freedom of the Borough march.
The 1st Battalion the Mercian Regiment will parade through Widnes and Runcorn.
They received a warm welcome at their homecoming march last year.
Roads in the area will be closed by police.
The Widnes parade today starts at 11am from Asda car park and proceeds along Widnes Road and Albert Road to the junction of Albert Road and Robert Street.
In Runcorn, the parade will assemble at The Brindley at 12.15pm. It will head along High Street, Church Street, Regent Street, Devonshire Place, High Street, returning to the Brindley.
