A WIDNES man is to appear in court today charged with attempted murder, following a police enquiry into a shooting.

Ryan Duggan, aged 19, has been been charged with attempted murder, possession of a shotgun, and possession of a firearm with intent.

He is due to appear at Halton Magistrates Court this morning.

It follows a shooting incident in St Michael’s View, Widnes, at 9.45pm on Wednesday, October 15.

Police say a 25-year-old man received injuries to his abdomen and leg.

He underwent surgery and is recovering after hospital treatment.

Following police enquiries, Duggan was arrested on Wednesday, November 26.

Two other teenagers have already been arrested in connection with the same incident.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said:”Two males, both aged 16, were arrested following the incident on suspicion of attempted murder, interviewed and released on police bail until a date in December.”
