A WIDNES teacher travelled 7,574 miles to Africa to personally deliver poetry and hand crafted cards made by her pupils.
Stephanie Rose, an English teacher at Wade Deacon, visited students at The Mutari High School in Zimbabwe.
She spent a week working with them on various new ideas to strengthen links between the two schools.
She worked on a recycling project with the African students showing them how to create drinking glasses from old wine bottles.
The global footsteps club is held every Monday at Wade Deacon for pupils to upcycle unwanted items and make new products to sell in school and the community.
All the proceeds go towards funding developments with schools they have linked up with in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Miss Rose said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to develop links between our friends in Africa.
“I am excited to be a part of such a worthwhile and important enterprise.”
