A SHED load of wine has spilt onto the M56 following a collision between two lorries.
The exit slip road at junction 12 in Runcorn is closed.
One lane of the eastbound carriageway is closed and traffic is queuing back to Chester.
The delays are affecting traffic heading towards Manchester.
The Highways Agency says the slip road and lane one are about to re-open shortly and should start to ease congestion.
There is a delay of around 90 minutes.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
The collision happened at 12.55pm.
