Power in Partnership gives employers the chance to share their practical knowledge and expertise.
Eight young people are learning painting and decorating skills and working in empty properties with staff at Halton Housing Trust.
Yvonne Fovargue, Shadow Education Minister and Halton MP Derek Twigg MP came to see the scheme in action.
John Maddox, maintenance manager at the trust said: “It’s great that we can give young people an opportunity to get on the career ladder by offering them real life work experience.”
