A RUNCORN company has pledged to support Halton Haven’s big festive fundraiser.

Logistics recruitment firm D&D Recruit in Daresbury is taking part in the Santa Dash for Halton Haven Hospice.

Owner Dean Bond and employees Hazel Littlewood and Hayley Cannon will join hundreds of volunteers to run over the bridge on Sunday, December 14.

Mr Bond said “We want to do our bit to help out such a wonderful, worthy cause.

“ It seems that most people in the area know of someone who has needed the help of the hospice and the staff need funds to keep the hospice running all year long.

More than 700 volunteers raised £20,000 for the hospice in last year’s fun run.

A cut price early bird entry fee has been introduced to encourage runners to sign up.

A reduced price of £15 for adults and £8.50 for nine to 15-year-olds is available until November 23.

The registration fee includes a Santa suit and a medal and mince pie on completion.

The dash starts at 9am in Spike Island, Widnes and goes over the bridge to Runcorn Town Hall.

The bridge will be closed to allow runners to cross.
