THOUSANDS of free seed kits are available to create colourful wild flower havens across Halton.

Grow Wild, one of the UK’s biggest ever seed sowing campaigns is inviting community groups to help create one million square metres of wild flowers in summer 2015.

There are 120,000 free seed kits available. Each Grow Wild kit contains five packets of seeds, enough to transform at least 10 square metres.

The kits are designed for people to get together with friends, neighbours, colleagues and activity groups to sow in public spaces, streets, gardens, balconies and window boxes.

The project is supported by the Big Lottery Fund and led by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

To register your group, visit growwilduk.com/register-seed-kit before February 2015.
