OFFENDERS wanted for various offences are being arrested across Halton as part of a special police crackdown.
A 23-year-old man was arrested in Widnes this morning and a 32-year-old man was locked up in Runcorn as Operation Hatay takes to the streets.
Sgt Neil Edgar of Widnes Neighbourhood Policing Unit said: “We are looking to make arrests for people wanted for a variety of offences. They may have failed to appear in court or be in breach of an order.
“We are knocking on people’s doors and warning anyone who harbours someone that they are assisting an offender.
“It is a seven day force-wide operation. Most people are giving themselves up.”
Seven arrests have been made in Widnes since Monday.
Officers from Widnes Neighbourhood Policing Unit have tweeted: “Sat at home knowing you’re wanted?? Don’t relax, we’re coming for you.
“Yesterday, a wanted male told us to ‘do our job’ to find those wanted. This morning he’s been arrested.”
