A WIDNES mum inspired by her identical twins to embark on a new children’s fashion career is in line to win a top award.

Zoe Parry has been nominated for a new business award by Bizmums, a supportive community of self-employed mums who inspire and motivate each other. They network, learn and celebrate each other’s achievements.

Zoe, aged 38, of Bidleston Close, set up her own online business, Little Uns Clothing, in April after being made redundant.

She has 20 years experience in retail in the pawnbroker business.

Zoe said: “I was a regional manager but never dealt with all the nitty gritting operational things.

“The level of support I have received from Chambers of Commerce has been fantastic. I have free mentoring and I’ve been on courses to learn about bookkeeping, taxation and Twitter.

“They’ve linked me in with Barclays Bank, allowing me to showcase my products to customers and staff.

“Bizmums have been great, giving me a lot of practical help. I couldn’t believe it when I was nominated. The recognition is fantastic.”

She specialises in top quality clothes by British designers and offers choices of colours and patterns for twins to celebrate their individuality.

Zoe, who is married to Dave, aged 43, has her twins, Lily and Daisy with her at home as she works. She also has a five-year-old son, Stan.

She added: “There are frustrating days when I am trying to get 101 things done. It is really hard but then the children do something wonderful and I realise I would have missed out on that had I been at work.

“My end goal is to have a legacy to hand over to my children. My daughters are my inspiration and my models.

“I hope to open a shop in Widnes as soon as the twins start school and create jobs for other people.”

Zoe is doing a 10k run to raise money for Alzheimer’s in memory of her nan, Florence Potter, aged 86, who died last year.
