A FREE event is being held in Halton to encourage residents to improve their wellbeing and find out what health chiefs are planning.

The Keeping Halton Healthy Day is being held on Wednesday, September 24 at The Foundry, Lugsdale Road, Widnes, starting at 11.30am.

People can have a hand massage, a free health check, take part in a music workshop, drink a smoothie and enjoy healthy refreshments.

Simon Banks, chief officer of NHS Halton Clinical Commissioning Group said: “The Keeping Halton Healthy event is going to fun, interactive and informative.

“Residents will be able to find out more about who NHS Halton CCG is, what we are doing to improve services for patients in the Borough and ways to improve their health and wellbeing.”

The group’s annual general meeting will be held at 1pm.

Mr Banks added: “This is an opportunity to hear about our work during 2013/14, including achievements, challenges and the annual accounts as well as looking forward to the next two years.

“There will also be an opportunity to ask the governing body questions. We really hope our Halton residents will be able to join us.”

A free shuttle bus service will take Runcorn residents to the venue. A door-to-door service is available for anyone with a mobility problem. For more information, call 0151 511 7444.
