A RUNCORN beautician is organising a family fun day to celebrate the life of her friend who lost her battle against cystic fibrosis.

Kayleigh Urmson had planned the event with Stacey McCulloch, from the old town, who sadly died in July, aged 23.

She hopes people will help her to reach her target of £750 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust and raise awareness about this life-threatening condition.

Mum-of-two Kayleigh, aged 25, of Weston, said: "Stacey was full of fun. She didn't waste a day. She lived every day to the full.

"She never dwelled on the fact that she was ill. Everyone always says how inspirational she was.

"I want people of all ages to come along and enjoy themselves and celebrate her life."

The fun day is on Sunday, September 21, from 1pm to 6pm at The Pavilions, Sandy Lane, Weston Point.

Attractions will include sponsored waxing, stalls, crafts, cakes, tombola, hot dogs, ice cream and lots of other activities.

Kayleigh and her partner, Lee Stringer, aged 28, and sons, Kai, aged one, and Riley, aged three, hope lots of families will come along and enjoy themselves.

Stacey's parents, Lisa and Andy, brothers Andrew and Callum and sister, Jackie have pledged their support.

Kayleigh, who has spent a month planning the event, added: "I've got lots of leaflets and will be giving out information about cystic fibrosis.

"My aim is to raise £750. I've already got £400 so I'm half way there.

"We're going to wax lads' legs so it should be lots of fun."
