A GROUP of mums is striving to ensure families can express their views about services and facilities.
A team of volunteers called Parents' Voice visits children's centres and chats to mums, dads and carers.
Volunteer mum-of-two Jane McCabe, aged 43, of Coronation Drive, Widnes, said:"We go to groups in children's centres to see if there is anything they are not happy with. We act as a watchdog."
Jane, who worked in a nursery for 20 years, visits Upton and Ditton Children's Centres and Ditton Community Centre.
Parents Voice is holding a charity coffee afternoon, from 1pm to 3pm. on Wednesday, September 24, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
They will be selling homemade cards and cakes. A free creche will be available and all parents and carers are welcome.
Jane added: "A lot of people are touched by cancer. This charity is close to people's hearts.
"We hope people will come along and support us."
