A WIDNES drug dealer has been jailed after the police discovered £7,000 worth of drugs at his home.

Stephen Tudor, aged 37, of Cawfield Avenue, has been sentenced to four years and two months after pleading guilty to possession of class A, B and C drugs with intent to supply and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police in Widnes today pledged to continue their fight to combat drugs.

Sergeant Neil Edgar from Widnes Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "I would like to assure the residents of Widnes that any information we receive regarding drug dealing in the local community will be taken extremely seriously.

"The corrosive effect that drug abuse and associated criminality has on our communities is well known, and we are committed to a relentless focus on tackling the problem and targeting those involved."

Tudor was arrested on June 8 ,2014, after a drugs warrant was executed at his home.

Officers discovered more than £7,000 worth of drugs, including amphetamine and cocaine, along with cash and several mobile phones.

Tudor was sentenced at Chester Crown Court on August 8.

In addition to the prison sentence, he was also ordered to pay approximately £7,000 forfeiture under the proceeds of crime act.
