A WIDNES teenager is passionate about his neighbourhood.

Keiron Gordon, aged 17, of the Kingsway estate, spends hours every week clearing up the streets.

He says he gets a lot of satisfaction from his voluntary work and loves to be out and about in the community.

Halton Housing Trust has been supporting him and sends staff out to help him on specific projects, supplying bin bags and equipment.

Keiron said: "The trust has been very helpful and supports me and my work. It gives me more motivation to carry on and realise that my work is appreciated.’"

Scott Haspell, environmental services manager at the trust, said: "Keiron is a fantastic volunteer and we’re happy to support him.

"We first started working with him in 2012. Since then the partnership has grown and now Keiron calls us to collect litter and any fly tipping he finds.

"He also lets us know if he needs help on the ground and when he’s working in specific areas we are able to send guys out to help him out.

"He really is dedicated to his cause and makes a real difference to his local neighbourhood."

Keiron is always looking for volunteers to help him out. If you think you could give up a few hours to help please e-mail him at keirongordon8@gmail.com.
