ALMOST 200 Runcorn children enjoyed a family fun day in the grounds of St Berteline's Church in Norton Lane, Windmill Hill.
Rain failed to dampen spirits on Wednesday, August 20 as children enjoyed face painting, balloon modelling, arts and crafts and a barbecue.
Organiser Sheridan Miles from Halton Council's Windmill Hill Children's Centre, said: "We had some really good, positive feedback from families. Fun was had by all.
"There was a good mix of residents and those who live further afield which was fab.
"We hope to run a similar event this time next year only bigger and better."
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and Cheshire Police staged demonstrations.
The event was part of 'The Big Week', a range of activities for all ages organised by The Big Local partnership. It aims to bring together talent, ambitions, skills and energy to make the neighbourhood an even better place to live.
