POLICE are investigating if drugs caused the death of a man in a Widnes hotel room.
They were called by ambulance staff at 5.25am on Sunday to the Travelodge hotel on the outskirts of Widnes.
They were treating a 22-year-old man with breathing problems who was taken to Whiston Hospital a short time later.
It is understood he had been to Creamfields earlier in Daresbury.
A spokesman said: "Cheshire Police are investigating the full circumstances of the incident and an investigation is under way.
"The cause of the man's death is being treated as unexplained including whether it was in any way drug related."
A post mortem examination will now take place.
His next of kin have been informed.
