CUPCAKES are on the menu at a Widnes Italian restaurant as part of a charity drive.
Staff at Pesto on Birchfield Road are staging their own Great British Bake Off to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Customers have already donated more than £100.
General manager Melanie Mooney, aged 33, said: “Everyone loves cake and our cupcakes have proved incredibly popular.
“We’re so glad so many people have shown their support for the fantastic work Macmillan does on a daily basis by donating for our cakes and we hope to raise even more over the coming weeks.”
Staff have been challenged to use their creative and entrepreneurial skills to convert a £20 donation into as much money as possible for Macmillan.
The restaurant is hosting a charity coffee morning from 9.30am to 11.30am on Friday, September 26 when guests will be offered tea or coffee and homemade cakes in return for donations.
