EXOTIC species will be making their debut in the new butterfly house in Victoria Park tomorrow.

Special activities are being held from 10.30am to 2.30pm from Thursday, August 21 to Sunday, to celebrate the re-opening of this Widnes visitor attraction.

Families are invited to join a butterfly health walk today.

Swallowtails, Blue Moons, Clipper, Indian Leaf, Heliconia and Malachite are just some of the many colourful creatures you will see as you step into the warm, damp heat of their new tropical home, set amongst the glasshouses in the century old park.

You can discover how to attract butterflies into your garden on Friday, August 22 and how to make a butterfly seed bomb, A family craft session and butterfly Jackanory will be held on Saturday, August 23.

A book sale and photographic exhibition of pictures captured in the butterfly house will be on display on Sunday, August 24.

Volunteers from Victoria Park Environment Team in partnership with Halton Council won grants from Community First Fund and Awards for All to restore the butterfly house.
