Drivers Direct, which provides temporary and permanent drivers to commercial organisations, has raised more than £2,500 for Barnardo’s.

A black tie event in London was hosted by the company which has an office in Halton Road, Runcorn.

During the evening, employees were recognised for their excellent customer service, commitment to the company and were awarded with trophies and trips to New York, Paris or London. Owner and managing director, Gethin Roberts, said: “We’re thrilled to have raised such a substantial amount for Barnordo’s as it was the chosen charity by our employees, the board of directors and it clearly means a lot to us all. "

Jane Harries, community fundraising volunteer manager from Barnardo’s, said: “Donations are absolutely vital to our work and we use every penny as efficiently as possible to make the most impact on vulnerable children.

" Last year, throughout the UK, Barnardo's helped 200,000 children to overcome very difficult times.”

Barnardo’s raises money to transforms the lives of vulnerable children across the UK through offering fostering services, campaigning and research.
