CRONTON Sixth Form is celebrating after getting a 99.2 per cent A-level pass rate this year.
And 80 per cent of students picked up high grades helping the Widnes college stay at the top of the Department for Education performance tables as the number one A-level college in Merseyside and Cheshire.
Mary Murphy, college principal, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the outstanding A-level results our students have achieved this year, especially the 99.2 per cent pass rate and the number who have achieved high grades. They are now making their way to university and we wish them every success.
“We have also been ranked in the top 10 per cent nationally by ALPs (The Advanced Level Performance system). This ALPs ‘outstanding’ grade means that our students’ achievements are amongst the very best in the country.
“I am also pleased that many of our students have now secured places at top universities. We have been working extremely hard through our Prestigious Universities Programme to inspire our students to exceed their potential through a wide range of activities which have included residential trips to Oxbridge, international visits and high profile inspirational speakers.”
