THE driver of a lorry who died in a collision on the M56 on Tuesday has been named.
Ian Smith, aged 46, from Dunstable, Bedfordshire, died after the lorry he was driving went through the barrier of the Weaver Viaduct by the Runcorn junction and came to a rest on the embankment below.
Police continue to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, and not yet made contact with police, to call the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 211 of August 12.
