A 53-YEAR-OLD man has been killed in a collision on Daresbury Expressway on Monday night.

The man was driving a Ford Focus when it was involved in the collision just after 11pm with a HGV at the roundabout with Blackheath Lane.

He has been named locally as Warrington man Graham Oxley.

He was known as Ox and worked at Old Trafford football ground, the home of Manchester United.

Two fire engines from Runcorn were called to help as one person was trapped in one of the vehicles.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Formal identification is expected to take place later today.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anything in the lead-up to it, to get in touch on 101 quoting incident 1047 of 4 August 2014.
