STRIKING firefighters will walk out for three hours a day for eight days from Saturday as their industrial action continues.
Members of the Fire Brigades Union will walk out from noon to 2pm and then from 10.59pm to 11.59pm every day until the following Saturday, August 16 in a dispute with the Government over later retirement ages and facing pension cuts.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has warned residents to be extra vigilant during the strikes.
Chief fire officer Paul Hancock, said: “We do have plans and procedures in place that will enable us to continue to protect the communities during strike periods. However, we will have less fire engines available and so we would encourage everyone to take extra care both in the home and out and about on the roads, to keep themselves and their families safe.”
