A FATHER and son team who work together in Runcorn will be going head-to-head at the National Triathlon Championship on Sunday.

Tim and Alex Nutter, aged 52 and 22 from Preston, will be tackling the event in Liverpool.

The pair, who work, at Matthew Clark drinks wholesaler, will complete the full Olympic triathlon distance of a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run.

Tim said: “I’m training every day at the moment and Alex and I tend to run together three times a week, but on the day bragging rights are at stake. Its age and wisdom versus youth!

“Alex is the better runner, I am the better swimmer and we’re pretty close on the bike so it will be tight between us. I think Alex will have to go some to beat me as he only completed his first triathlon this year and I’ve been doing it since 2007."

And their training has been fuelled by Whole Earth peanut butter, who are a supplier to the British Triathlon Federation.
