HALTON volunteer centre has moved into the former St Marie’s Church in Lugsdale Road, Widnes.

The Pugin-designed chuch, built in 1896, has been lying empty since it closed in 2007.

A £1.6 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund has restored the building.

It is now home to Halton and St Helens Voluntary and Community Action which provides advice, information and support fro around 2,000 voluntary community groups and organisations.

To book an appointment, call 01928 593112 or, from Thursday, August 4, you can drop in on Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm.
