A CHARITY gig is being held in Widnes from 3pm on Saturday, July 26.

Simmfest returns to The Studio in Lacey Street in aid of The Stroke Association.

The event is organised by 19-year-old Nathan Simm and raised £1,000 for Cancer Research last year.

Louise Nulty, project manager at The Studio, said: “It has such a festival feel to the place during Simmfest and it caters for all the family, giving opportunities for solo artist, young performers and community groups as well as more established bands.”

James Michael and Greg Oldfield will be performing alongside bands Cable Cars, The Sun Gods and Fitz.

Nadine McGee, Lockstocks, Eleanor Nelly, Victoria Music Limited, George Rees, Beau Dermott and new band Quagmire will also be on stage.

There will also be stalls selling various items including Henna tatoos, cakes and handmade jewellery.

Admission is £3 before 4pm and £4 afterwards.
