A VICTORIAN fun day attracted more than 550 visitors to Norton Priory.

Staff and volunteers dressed up in costume to celebrate days gone by.

Plants, homemade cakes, preserves and fresh fruit and vegetables were on sale.

Susan Brownrigg, learning and community manager, said: “Families learned how to decorate bee and ladybird cupcakes.

“They tried their luck on the tombola, coconut shy and chuck a duck.

“They were entertained by storytelling and traditional music and enjoyed donkey rides and viewing a vintage fire engine.

“The whole day was rounded off with a fabulous flying display from Vale Royal Falconry.”

Ice cream, live music and donkey rides provided plenty of family fun.

Norton Priory wishes to thank Cheshire Wildlife Trust, the Walton Lea Project and their volunteers for making the event on Sunday, July 13 such a success.
