THE Broadway hit musical Annie has been brought to life by Widnes students.

A cast of 65 Bankfield pupils from the entire school spent three months rehearsing for the production.

They performed to packed houses of family and friends.

Director Paul Kennedy said: “The production went amazingly.

“ I was so pleased that Bankfield's last ever show went so well. We had a brilliant cast.

“In fact they were so brilliant we had two Annies and two Miss Hannigan's on alternate nights.

“They have rehearsed and performed in a professional manner and have been a credit to the school and themselves. We are so proud of them.”

Holly Hunter and Lauren Helsby shared the role of Annie. Emma Passey and Amy Stephens took it in turns to play Miss Hannigan.

The school, to re-open in September as Ormiston Chadwick Academy, will next stage Richard The Third, The War Of The Worlds and West Side Story.
