A SPORTS fair will give residents across Runcorn and Widnes the chance to try a range of physical activities.

More tha 50 free events have been organised by Halton Council, starting on Saturday, July 19.

You can 'try' your hand at rugby league, rugby union, crown green bowls, martial arts, swimming and trampolining among other sports.

Halton Clr Phil Harris, board member for sport, said: "It is the opportunity for you to access and take part in a variety of sports or physical activities, taking place in your local area.

"Sessions will include, come and try it taster sessions, demonstrations, or competitions, and are open to young people and adults. Why not try something you have never had a go at before?"

If you would like a copy of the list of activities that are available for you electronically, please contact Halton sports development team on, visit or pick up a leaflet at Halton libraries, direct link offices or sports centres.

Sessions will be free to all those wishing to attend, unless otherwise stated.
