MORE than 400 people joined the Twilight Walk raising thousands of pounds for Halton Haven Hospice.

A record number registered on Saturday July 5 to take part in the annual event.

Hospice events manager Ciaran Clotworthy said: “This year’s Twilight Walk was a fantastic success and over 400 people created a sea of purple walking across the Silver Jubilee bridge.

“The weather was as always kind to us and this created an amazing atmosphere and brought people from all over the borough to take part.”

Volunteers walked 10km from the Select Stadium, over the Runcorn Widnes bridge to Runcorn Town Hall and back again Everyone received a medal.

Halton Haven Hospice would like to say a huge thank you to Anthony’s Travel, staff at the Select Security Stadium, Halton Council and to every single volunteer and walker who helped to make the walk a huge success.

This event helps raise awareness as well as much needed funds to allow the hospice to continue to deliver specialist palliative services free of charge to Halton and surrounding areas.

Walkers are asked to get their sponsorship money in before Friday, August 29.
