Firefighters tackle van fire in Widnes
A VAN caught fire on a main road in Widnes today.
Ashley Road was closed as emergency crews tackled the incident near the Silver Blades ice rink shortly before 2pm.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service Service said: “Firefighters used two hose reel jets to put out the blaze and cleared the roadway. Police were also in attendance for traffic maintenance.”
No one was hurt.
