WOOD caught fire near an oxygen cylinder at a derelict building in Runcorn yesterday.
Firefighters tackled the blaze in Halton Road at 6.15pm.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “One hose reel was used to put out a fire involving a large amount of scrap wood outside a derelict building. An oxygen cylinder was also involved.
“Firefighters wet the cylinder before used a thermal imaging camera. Fortunately there were no hot spots and the cylinder was placed in a scrap bath of water. “ Crews from Runcorn and Widnes dealt with the incident.
