A WOMAN was robbed by a cyclist as she stood at a bus stop in Widnes.
The 38-year-old victim was outside the Spar shop in Halton View Road using her mobile when a man on a bike tried to snatch her phone.
It caused her phone to become dislodged from her grip and fly into the air.
The offender, described as a white man with short dark hair and wearing a black north face coat and carrying a dark grey rucksack, grabbed the phone and fled.
He rode off towards wasteland known locally as ‘The Bongs′.
The robbery happened at 6.55am on Tuesday, July 1.
An investigation has been launched.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or has any information, which could be significant, to get in touch.
Police are also appealing to anyone who may have any information regarding the identity of the offender to come forward.
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 114 on 1 July or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
