VANDALS have torched cut grass at the Town Park in Runcorn on four separate occasions last night.

Cheshire Police are appealing for information.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighers were called to a total of four fires involving grass in the Town Park field area of Runcorn between 5pm and 8pm on July 1.

“These incidents all involved an area of grass which had been cut down and left on the ground. This had then dried out and been set on fire deliberately.”

Anyone with information can call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
