A RECORD number of fundraisers are expected to take part in this year’s Twilight Walk for Halton Haven on Saturday, July 5.

More than 700 volunteers joined the fun last year raising £20,000 for the hospice.

Ciaran Clotworthy, hospice events manager, said: “This year we want the Twilight Walk to be even bigger and have made use of an eventbrite booking system for participants to sign up.

“Every year we always have tremendous support and the effort walkers go to is wonderful.

Fancy dress is optional but each year more and more walkers get dressed up and have a laugh.”

Prices are the same as last year with a £38 family including two adults and up to four children under the age of 16.

A £100 group ticket includes 10 people. Individual entries are £15. Registration forms can be picked up from any of the hospice charity shops or from the hospice.

To register online for the Twilight Walk, visit haltonhavenhospice.co.uk/twilight-walk-5th-july-2014 or haltonhavenhospice.eventbrite.co.uk or call 01928 712 728.

It costs £2.4 million to provide round-the-clock palliative care at the hospice in Barnfield Avenue, Murdishaw, Runcorn.

The charity receives limited statutory funding and has to raise £1.2m through donations and events.

There is no charge to patients using any of the services.
