Police appeal after thief grabs bag from 95-year-old woman

A CALLOUS thief snatched a bag from a 95-year-old woman in Widnes.

The elderly lady was walking along Dundalk Road towards Hale Road when the offender grabbed a bag from her shopping trolley.

He ran off towards King George playing fields.

Detectives today appealed for witnesses.

The incident happened shortly before 2pm on Saturday, June 14.

The thief is described as a white male, aged 40-60, of slim to medium build. He is bald, clean shaven and was wearing a light blue t-shirt and light coloured trousers.

Anyone with information can call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 496 14/6/14 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
