IT is now easier than ever to give blood.

NHS Blood and transplant has introduced new applications for iPhone and android devices.

Jon Latham, assistant director of donor services and marketing for NHS Blood and Transplant said:”We recognise that people lead busy lives and we want to make donating as easy as possible.

“Our recent developments enable donors to self service 24/7 in whatever way they wish to contact us, wherever they are.

“They are able to make and change appointments as well as keep up to date with their blood account.

“We always need new donors and particularly look to younger donors to join the team to protect blood supplies for years to come.”

Blood donor sessions are being held on Tuesday, July 1 at The Foundry, Lugsdale Road, Widnes, from 1.30pm-3.30pm and 5pm-7pm and on Wednesday, July 2 at Canal Walk, Halton Road, Runcorn, from 2pm-4pm and 5.30pm-7.30pm.

To book an appointment, call 0300 123 23 23 or visit blood.co.uk.
