BRITISH Transport police officers have released this CCTV image today of a man and woman they want to speak to after a bag was stolen from a train between Runcorn and Liverpool Lime Street.

PC Rick Melling said: “The victim left the train at Runcorn, having travelled from London, but realised once on the platform that she had left a bag containing clothes on the train.

“Unfortunately before she was unable to get back onto the train, it left the station heading to Liverpool Lime Street.”

The woman alerted rail staff, but when the carriage was checked at Lime Street, the bag and contents worth £300 were missing.

PC Melling added: “We have carried out a number of enquiries following the incident and have managed to isolate the images of two people we’d like to speak to about the theft.

“If you recognise them, or have any information which could assist the investigation, please get in touch.”

The incident happened on a Virgin Trains service at about 9pm on Monday,May 26, as the victim travelled home from London.
