THE search is on to find new police community support officers.

Cheshire Constabulary is launching a recruitment drive on Monday, June 23 to fill vacancies across the county.

The role of PCSO is vital to the success of neighbourhood policing and offers an interesting and rewarding career.

To help prospective applicants with their preparation, the force has a comprehensive section on PCSOs on the Cheshire Police website cheshire.police.uk.

A video which highlights the role of a PCSO within Cheshire as well as a powerpoint presentation which includes detailed information about the recruitment process.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to watch this video and read the information as it gives a clear understanding of the role of a PCSO, including the key skills and behaviours linked to the role as these will be tested throughout the recruitment process.

Applications are specifically sought from underrepresented groups. This is in line with the Constabulary′s desire to recruit a workforce with is representative of the community which it serves.

Applications must be sought via the e-recruitment system and candidates are requested not to phone any emergency numbers in order to request an application form.
