HALTON residents are being asked for their views on the borough’s highways and transport services.

A questionnaire will be posted this month to 3,000 people selected randomly across Runcorn and Widnes Halton is one of 78 local authorities to participate in a national customer satisfaction survey that will ask members of the public exactly the same questions, wherever they live, so that results can be compared across the country.

Halton Clr Tom Mcinerney, board member for transportation, said: “I am encouraging people who receive the survey to fill it in, as we need to know the views of the people who use our roads and transport services, and find out what is important to them.

"The results will help us with the planning and improvement of these services to make sure they meet people’s needs and aspirations.”

Now in its seventh year, the national highways and transport public satisfaction survey covers all aspects of local highway and transport services from the condition of roads to the quality of local bus services.

It will enable local authorities to compare results, share in best practice and identify opportunities to work together in the future.

The 12-page questionnaire should take around 20 minutes to complete.

Local and national results are expected to be published in October.

Residents who receive the questionnair may opt to complete it on line if they prefer.
