RUNCORN MP Graham Evans is playing in a celebrity cricket match to raise funds for Halton Haven Hospice, St Luke’s Hospice and The Joshua Tree.

He will captain a team of MPs and celebrities to take on Emmerdale All-Stars.

The match, on Sunday, June 29, is sponsored by Roberts Bakery.

Mr Evans said: “The three nominated charities are extremely worthy causes, doing so much for the local community, and I’m delighted that all proceeds from the match will be going to them.

“I’m delighted that so many companies have agreed to sponsor the match.

“I’m very pleased to be able to announce such a good variety of celebrities to play in the match.

“I hope lots of people come along on the day and have a fantastic fun day out.

The Emmerdale All-Stars team is captained by Matthew Wolfenden (David Metcalfe), and includes Chris Chittell (Eric Pollard), Bhasker Patel (Rishi Sharma), and Joe-Warren Plant (Jacob Gallagher).

The MPs and celebrities team includes TV presenter Nick Hancock, Adam Partridge TV antiques auctioneer, Mo Chaudry entrepreneur star of Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire ,and Ikram Butt, the first British Asian to represent England at either code of rugby.

Gates open at 12 noon at Northwich Cricket Club, Moss Farm leisure complex, Northwich, CW8 4BG.

The first ball will be bowled at 2pm. Tickets are £5 on the gate, under 16s free.
