Cyclist killed in Widnes named

A CYCLIST who died in a collision in Widnes has been named locally as 33-year-old Michael Davies.

Mr Davies, a former Helsby High School pupil from Kingsley, lived in Runcorn with his wife and one-year-old daughter.

Flowers and tributes have been left at the scene of the accident in Birchfield Road.

The fatal collision involved a Ford Mondeo and a van at 4.12pm on Thursday, June 12.

The police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information.
