A MOTABILITY show offered Halton’s disabled drivers the latest advice and information.
Halton Council teamed up with Polar Ford to stage the three-day event at Runcorn Shopping Centre.
It was a chance for motorists to find out how new government legislation could affect them.
Karl Clawley, manager of Runcorn Shopping Centre said: “We wanted to ensure that customers who have disabilities fully understood the changes in law around the Motability scheme.”
‘Safe in town’, a free scheme to protect vulnerable people when they are out shopping, attracted 33 new members and 25 stores and the centre itself signing up.
People with a learning or physical disability carry a card containing a telephone number of their relative or carer. Shopkeepers who join display a logo, offering them a safe haven until someone comes to collect them.
