A FROG is creating a new image for Runcorn Hill Park which is undergoing a £2 million renovation.
Eli Smith, aged 11, a pupil at Weston Primary School, won a competition to design a logo.
Part of the quarry in the park looks like a frog’s mouth and is called Frog’s Mouth Quarry.
Halton Council parks conservation officer Siobhan Royle, said: "We chose Eli's design as we thought that he had captured the hill perfectly in a way that was meaningful to the park and that was easily adaptable to be able to be used on all publications to do with Runcorn Hill Park.
"The design can be made large for posters and sign boards, and small enough to place on leaflets, badges and on all social media sites about the park.
"The logo could depict any of the unique features of the park's heritage, history or wildlife and will be used to represent the park and the project in all future promotional materials.”
More than 30 children aged four to 16 entered the competition.
A pavilion, which will include a cafe, community space and toilets is due to open in October.
A lakeside pavilion and garden pavilion are also being built beside the bowling greens.
The improvements have been funded through the Heritage Lottery.
