HALTON residents are being reminded about where they can can access expert medical treatment during the spring bank holiday.

NHS health chiefs are advising patients to visit their pharmacist for quick, confidential advice on a range of common illnesses.

Tom Knight, head of primary care for NHS England in Merseyside, said: “Your local pharmacy can help you with more than you might think. Pharmacists offer expert, confidential advice and treatment for many minor health problems.

“As most GP surgeries will be closed on Monday we would also encourage patients to order any medication they need in plenty of time so they have a good supply during the bank holiday.”

In Halton the following pharmacies will be open on bank holiday Monday, May 26.

Boots, Widnes Shopping Park 9am-8pm, Tesco, Ashley Retail Park, Lugsdale Road 11am-4pm, Asda, Widnes Road 10am-4pm and Asda, West Lane, Runcorn 9am-6pm.
