A WIDNES schoolgirl yearns to become a famous dancer.

Paige Fenlon, aged 15, has won a place at Merseyside Dance and Drama College on a three year performance, dance and teacher training course, starting in September.

Annual tuition fees are £7,000 and there are no scholarships in the first year.

Paige, from Greenway Road, who started dancing when she was four, said: “I have a dream to one day star in a West End musical. “I truly believe I could potentially become a star on the big screen in a musical.

“I will audition for a scholarship in my second year.”

Her single parent mum, Karen, aged 42, has managed to raise £4,364 from fundraising.

Paige’s school, SS Peter & Paul Catholic College has donated £250 from their gifted and talented fund and Halton Council has given her a £250 bursary.

Beautician Karen, who works from home, said: “Paige loves performing. She absolutely lives and breathes musicals. She has won numerous medals at championshhips and festivals for singing, dancing and acting.

“She has a bubbly character and is just fun loving.”

Paige has performed at the Liverpool Empire and appeared on television. She attends the Elizabeth Hill School of Dance and Drama in St Helens.

Her sister, Alisha, aged 14, and her grandparents Lynn and Bob Abrams, who live next door to her, are doing all they can to raise funds.

Her family is bag packing at Morrisons on August 2.

Karen added: “I’d love to make her dream come true. We just need some businesses who might be willing to be sponsors.”
