TWO young women have been robbed at knifepoint in Widnes.
They were near Ditton Community Centre when a man on a mountain bike wearing a full face balaclava approached them.
He asked them if they had seen another man on a bike.
When the girls answered ‘no’, he rode off before turning around and demanding mobile phones and cash from them.
When they refused, he threatened them with a weapon which they believed to be a knife.
One of the girls handed over her phone before he rode off.
Detectives today appealed for information.
The man is described as being white, of slim build with a local accent and was wearing a dark coloured tracksuit and black full face balaclava.
The robbery at the recreational grounds near Ditton Community Centre in Dundalk Road happened on Friday, May 9, between 9.30pm and 10pm.
