Runcorn MP Graham Evans helps people to find jobs
WEAVER Vale MP Graham Evans is organising his third annual jobs and apprentices fair.
It will be on Thursday, May 29, from 10am to 3pm at Mid Cheshire College Hartford Campus, Chester Road, Northwich, CW8 1LJ.
He moves the fair around his constituency. Last year's event was held in Daresbury.
Dozens of national and local employers will have stands advertising their vacancies, including Price Waterhouse Cooper, Timpson, Vauxhall and Roberts Bakery.
There will also be support and advice on subjects like CV writing and how to do well in interviews, from attendees including Jobcentre Plus, Murdishaw Jobs Club, and Weaver Vale Housing Trust Jobs Club.
Runcorn MP Mr Evans: “I am delighted to be hosting my third annual Jobs and Apprenticeship Fair this year at Mid Cheshire College.
“Since I ran my first fair in 2012, job seekers allowance claimants have dropped by 31 per cent in Weaver Vale. The JSA rate is now 3.6 per cent and while this is excellent progress, I believe that now is the time to put extra effort into supporting as many people as possible back into the work place.
“This jobs and apprenticeship fair will boost employment by showing job seekers and school leavers what opportunities are available, and the best way to achieve your aims.
“As a young man who left school with few qualifications, I spent some time being unemployed so I know how difficult it is and how important support can be.
“I’m very pleased to be working in partnership with Mid Cheshire College, Warrington Chamber of Commerce and Jobcentre Plus; and I am thrilled that so many major employers have already signed up to the day.
“The fair is open to all job seekers in my constituency and I hope to see many of them meeting with employers and support organisations to help them into employment.”
