A NEW scout group could soon be launched in Widnes.

Mersey Weaver District Scouts has been working with Halebank parish council and the Youth Federation to develop opportunities for young people aged six to 10.

An open day will be held at Halebank community centre on Saturday, May 31 for parents and young people to have a taste of scouting.

Sessions will be held at 10am and 1.30pm.

A spokesman for Mersey Weaver District Scouts said: “If you are looking to find new fun, challenging and adventurous activities for your children and give them chance to make new friends, then scouting may just be answer. Come along and see.”

Young people must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
