A SCHOOLGIRL chosen to be Alice this year had tea with the Mayor of Halton.

Charlotte Allock, aged 10, and her parents, Sally and Neil, were given a personal tour of Runcorn Town Hall by Clr Margaret Ratcliffe.

She is a keen dancer and will be performing in Peter Pan at The Brindley in July.

Clr Ratcliffe said: “It was a real joy to have tea with Alice.

“She was a really chatty young lady.

“I told her all about the history of this building and we exchanged notes about doing speeches.”

Charlotte’s mum, Sally, aged 45, from Walton, said: “The Mayor couldn’t have been nicer. She showed us all around.

“Charlotte is absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as Alice. It is a real honour.”

Charlotte, a pupil at Broomfield Junior School in Warrington, was selected to be Alice by the Lewis Carroll Society.
